Description

The Science Granting Councils (SGCs) fund research, some of which may have the potential to generate Intellectual Property (IP) assets. But most of them lack policies and strategies on how to harness and benefit from their investments. The Councils play an important leadership and coordination role within the national innovation systems. Enhancing their skills and capacities to effectively perform this function requires continuous modelling, motivation, mentorship, and practical coaching. A Model Institutional IP Strategy for SGCs is already developed under SGCI.
