The aim of the survey was to measure the rate of innovation among firms/ business enterprises for the period 2013 to 2016. The survey adapted and utilized an existing questionnaire which is also used by other African Union member countries allowing them to have comparable data. Data collection for the survey was carried on companies and enterprises from different sectors and industries including health, engineering, supplies, to mention but a few. Out of the targeted sample of 1,603 firms, 361 responded, translating to a 23% participation rate. The sample failed to represent the population.
